Youth Gardening Club Spring Session
Tuesdays 5:30pm-6:30pm, April 22 - May 27
Gardening is an excellent way to get youth engaged in healthy outdoor activity. In our course, youth will learn to plan and establish a home garden. They’ll learn about starting transplants, preparing the soil, identifying beneficial and pest insects, and more. Gardening topics provide hands-on, experiential science learning and a greater appreciate for natural systems. It’s also a great way to get kids excited about vegetables and healthy eating!
Class takes place on our family farm in Grand Ledge. Students will learn and play in our greenhouse and gardens, and will have the opportunity to bring transplants home at the end of the session.
Course is $60 for the full 6 week session. Limited spaces available, enroll today!

Suggested age: 5-13 years
We choose to offer mixed-age classes, as both modern research and traditional practice show children greatly benefit from mixed-age play and learning groups. Younger peers look up to and learn from older students, and older youth benefit learning how to be mentors.
You as parent know your child best—children may be ready for our course a little before or a little after age 5. In general, youth should be able to respect boundaries, follow directions, potty independently, and safely handle simple garden tools.
